What is "Adopt-A-Poll"?

Adopt-A-Poll is a polling place adoption program offered by Alameda County Registrar of Voters designed for groups of four or more who want to raise money for a cause they may be passionate about while engaging in civic duty on Election Day. Your business, organization, non-profit, club, or even families and friends can adopt a poll!

What would I be doing?

You and your group would assist voters in the voting process and manage the polling place from start to finish. If you are hired as a bilingual poll worker, you would also assist voters in English as well as the one of the following seven languages: Chinese, Khmer, Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, or Vietnamese. Prior to working at the polls, you must attend a mandatory training class where you will learn all the steps to operating a polling place.

How would I benefit?

Depending on the number of participants and bilingual members fluent in one of our supported languages, a day's work at a polling place can earn your group over $560.00! Checks are made payable out to you or you can opt to have the checks made out to the charity of your choice.

Why should I Adopt-A-Poll?

When you adopt a poll, not only do you help your community on Election Day, but you can also choose to donate your earnings to a charity of your choice, apply your earnings to a group fundraiser, or pay for a family vacation! The way you spend the stipend is totally up to you.
